October Q&A

I’ve always loved the questions that come before the drawings — the ones about meaning, flow, and how people truly live.
This month’s Q&A brings a few of those reflections: on design, on home, and on the stories that connect them.
Q: Do you mix clients’ existing furniture or vintage pieces into your designs?

Absolutely. I love when a space carries pieces that tell a story. There’s something special about blending what already has meaning with new elements that reflect where the client is now. It’s about creating a dialogue between past and present — not starting from scratch, but curating a new chapter in their home.
Great design honors the story that’s already there — and helps write the next one.
Q: What’s the first thing you notice when walking into a space?
The first thing I notice is energy — how people move, how light defines the room. Before any drawing or decision, I’m observing how the space feels and functions. Design starts with awareness, not aesthetics.
A beautiful home begins with seeing, not decorating.
Q: How do you create a home that feels timeless, not trendy?
By designing around people, not trends. When the foundation is built on proportion, texture, and authenticity, a space stays relevant long after the moment passes. Timeless design feels grounded because it’s personal — not performative.
When a space reflects who you are, it never goes out of style.
In the end, great design isn’t just seen — it’s felt.
It’s the quiet confidence of a home that reflects you, evolves with you, and always feels like the place you belong.
