A little design talk to start the month
I love doing these Q&A posts — they’re such a fun way to answer questions I get all the time and talk a little more about how I see design, beyond the moodboards and project photos. So, here we go — four questions to kick off November!
Q: When is the right time to hire an interior designer?
Honestly, earlier than most people think. The best time is right when you start thinking about making changes — whether it’s a remodel, new furniture, or even a full renovation. A designer can even help you choose the right house for you and your family, making sure the layout, light, and potential really match your lifestyle. Having a designer involved from the start helps you plan the big picture, so every decision (from layout to finishes) works together. It saves time, money, and avoids those “I wish I had thought of this before” moments.
Q: What’s your favorite space to design?
The kitchen, for sure. It’s the heart of the home — the place where everyone naturally gathers. I love how much impact good design has there, both in how it looks and how it works. With more open and connected layouts, the kitchen isn’t just for cooking anymore — it’s where conversations happen, where the family meets after a busy day, where everything starts — and ends.

Q: Where do you find inspiration for your designs?
Everywhere — truly. Traveling, nature, art, and even conversations with clients. I pay attention to textures, colors, and moments that make me feel something. Design inspiration often comes from life itself — the places we go, the memories we make, and the stories we want our homes to tell.
Q: What’s your biggest design advice?
Don’t rush the process. Good design takes time — to think, to refine, to make choices that truly fit your lifestyle. Trust your instincts and the process; the best spaces are always the ones that feel lived in, not staged.
