Some designers speak through silence — and Guilherme Wentz is one of them. His work doesn’t ask for attention; it invites presence. Each piece feels calm, intentional, and deeply connected to the way we experience a space.

What draws me to his designs is their quiet balance. There’s nothing excessive, nothing ornamental for the sake of it. Materials are thoughtfully chosen, and forms are simple, but never simplistic. Wood, metal, glass, and light come together in a way that feels natural — as if each element already knew where it belonged.

Bedroom detail featuring the Corda wall sconce by Guilherme Wentz, with soft ambient lighting, sculptural form, and a calm, contemporary aesthetic.

The sconce we used in this bedroom became the starting point for the entire project. Designed for a young client who loves American football, the room needed to feel grounded, masculine, and contemporary — but still calm. The piece by Guilherme Wentz offered exactly that. Its soft glow, organic line, and thoughtful construction brought warmth and intention to the space, setting the tone for everything that followed.

What I love most about his work is how function and poetry coexist. In the Corda sconce, the relationship between the metal structure and the hand-blown glass feels fluid and well resolved. The result is a light that feels sculptural and balanced, creating visual equilibrium without calling attention to itself.

Wentz’s pieces remind me that good design doesn’t need to be loud to be powerful. Sometimes, the most meaningful spaces are shaped by restraint, by attention, and by a deep respect for proportion.

His work is a testament to the idea that beauty is born when technique and emotion meet — a reminder that design can be quiet and still transformative.
