Design Story: A Primary Bathroom with Identity

This primary bathroom was designed for a young couple ready to move beyond the expected. From the beginning, the brief was clear: they were open — and excited — to explore something different. Color, texture, curves, and personality were not just welcome; they were essential.
Rather than starting with a dramatic layout change, we chose a more thoughtful approach. The existing layout worked well, so we kept it intact. This allowed us to focus our energy where it truly mattered: finishes, proportions, materiality, and atmosphere.

Curves played an important role in softening the space. Bathrooms often rely on rigid lines and hard surfaces, so introducing rounded forms — through mirrors, lighting, and subtle architectural moments — helped create a more fluid and inviting experience. Texture added depth and warmth, bringing tactility to a space used every day.
Color was used intentionally, never overpowering the room but adding contrast and character. The palette feels warm and expressive, reflecting the client’s personality while maintaining balance and calm.
By keeping the layout and reimagining everything else, the transformation feels both intuitive and impactful. What was once a neutral, straightforward bathroom is now layered, confident, and full of identity.
More than a renovation, this space became an expression of who the clients are — a primary bathroom where material, form, and color come together with intention.
